The old capital and a genuine must-visit - a medieval fortress town continuously inhabited since the third millennium BC and referenced by Herodotus. Houses built wall-to-wall in two defensive rings, six stone loggia gateways, Roman sarcophagi, old chapels, a tiny archaeological museum and endless cats. Go for sunset - one of the most photographed corners of the Cyclades.
