Soho House group hotel above Paraga beach.

“I'm sorry, but I really feel Soho House is losing the plot. Get every manager in the joint together, put them in front of a blackboard and explain what hospitality actually means - it's about pleasing people, making them feel welcome, looked after, happy and loved. It is not about a set of crappy rules. Kids can't use the pool after midday? Give me a break. Any wanker who doesn't want children in the pool can fuck off and go somewhere else. The gym - my God, the fun police have really got stuck into this joint: one minute being on your phone is illegal, but with AirPods in it's suddenly fine. For a hotel of this calibre, charging like a wounded bull, the gym feels like it belongs in a pod hotel in Tokyo. The view is great and the rooms are quite nice - just don't ask for one of the medium-sized basement rooms unless you want to feel like you're sleeping in a dungeon. The staff do try, at least. In a strange way, the whole experience sums up Mykonos.”
