El Xampanyet is great for a late lunch or a snack in the middle of the day. While the cava is the most popular, the food is also impressive. Many people choose the dishes they see on the counter, but the hot food made in the kitchen is just as tasty, or even better. The small potato omelet (or tortilla) is extra delicious when they make it for you. Some other tasty choices are the famous homemade anchovies and the flavorful Padrón peppers.

The only difference is that this place is tiny, energetic with incredible homestyle dishes and always a line at the door. This space is iconic and draws not just the locals but tourists alike.
