The current owner, Sadaharu Nakajima, comes from a family with a rich culinary history. His grandfather, Teijiro Nakajima, was the first head chef of Hoshigaoka Saryo, a high-class restaurant that opened in 1925. Teijiro's son later opened Nakajima in Shinjuku. Sadaharu Nakajima, as his heir, continues the family's culinary legacy with evident talent, gaining recognition through various media channels. "An absolute favourite of mine in Tokyo. Small and perfect space to eat some very traditional Japanese dishes. This place has a Michelin star but is very fairly priced for the quality of food you get which is incredible. Note that people line up for lunch way before the place even opens so get there quick!"
